Civil disclosure · PD 57AD · CPR Part 31
Disclosure the client will actually pay for.
Cut volume before review, keep a privilege log as you go, and produce numbered, sealed productions with an unbroken custody record.

What the law asks
In the Business and Property Courts, disclosure follows Practice Direction 57AD. Where a party seeks Extended Disclosure, the parties set out the Issues for Disclosure and the disclosure models they propose in a Disclosure Review Document, and the court decides. Elsewhere, CPR Part 31 applies.
Where it goes wrong
Volume that no client will fund.
The search method is challenged after the event.
Privilege is waived by a redaction mistake.
How Smartbox handles it
Different regimes. The same four steps.
The reduction, redaction and production layer. It complements your review platform and technology-assisted review.
Discover
De-duplicate and thread first, so volume comes out before review costs go in.

Decide
Privilege and redaction decisions are recorded as you go, building the privilege log.

Act
Burned-in redactions, checked before release.

Prove
Numbered, sealed productions with a hashed manifest and an unbroken custody record.

Bring a real civil disclosure matter to a demo.
What you can show afterwards
- Volume out before cost in.
- A privilege log built as you go.
- An unbroken custody record.
